Ludwig will awake the artist within you Usually I enjoy picking eye shadow colors one by one ( especially from MAC) but I'm always a sucker for Sephora's palettes from Urban Decay, Hard Candy and now Kat Von D. For the price of two separate shadows you can get eight in a gorgeous, slim compact that is ready to go anywhere. Ludwig is Kat's name of her hairless cat, kind of funny how this neutral palette got that name but I think it adds more charm to this whole set. The quality of the shadows - very silky and creamy, honestly probably one of the most luxurious eye shadows I have ever touched. They don't stay on forever but last long enough that when I look in the mirror at night, sixteen hours later, I still see most of it on. The compact itself is matte black with silver roses, very, very cute. It's also about ¼" tall and slightly longer than an iPod, I can fit it easy in my makeup bag. The brushes included are very unusual, I haven't used them yet since I like the ones I have from Sephora and MAC but they are slim and also very slipper/silky. The colors seem harmless but are kind of unusual! Each one has a small twist, when I applied them I saw that they are engineered to be striking but still look good and not odd. Lucifer - the name is scary I know but it's a simple matte black shadow that is usually hard to find. Great for drawing eye liner lines and for adding depth to any color. This color also comes in the other Kat Von D. palette. Orbi - gorgeous army olive with a gold base, looks great in the summer with a tan. Dimebag - bright but sheer acid green, looks great with a bronze brown liner. Tequila - great for highlighting, looks like the silvery gold moon at night, bright and pearl like, shimmery but with no glitter. This color also comes in the other Kat Von D. palette. Clay - warm gold base, for a nice neutral look but with a light punch of that sweet corn color. Downtown - pale creamy copper like shade, looks beautiful on the lid - probably my favorite color in the whole palette. Baroque - smoldering bronze, for a nice sultry look if pared with pink lips and Downtown shadow as base. Leather - soft pale brown in cooler tone, looks great as a liner for a more natural look, I like how the brown is in the cool tonation, not reddish and warm like most browns. Best part about these is making up new color combinations, I like to mix and match them with my other shadows and liners from Urban Decay for striking looks. But one doesn't have to be wild to wear it, I'm not but I simply like makeup and this gives many options for diverse array of looks. It's fun! - Kasia S. I wanted to love it I really wanted to love this product, but after having used it for the last 6 months, I just can't recommend it. The colors are nice, and the packaging is beautiful. However, this is the messiest eye shadow I have ever tried. It will not stay on the brush and ends up all over your cheeks, hands, and bathroom counter. I have tried it with different types of brushes with the same result. I have now resorted to covering my face with kleenex whenever applying it. I have even tried wetting the brushes to no avail. It also does not last all day, and tends to crease. Because of all of this, it's difficult to work with. I much preferred the Urban Decay eye shadows. Great everyday palette I love the Kat Von D Palettes, the colors are pigmented and complementary. Out of the three palettes out currently this is the more wearable of them all. The browns are perfect for any skin tone, none of them look dirty on lighter tones and ashy on darker tones. They're shimmery but not overwhelmingly glittery, its appropriate for most people and their daily jobs or activities. The only matte color in the set is a matte black called Lucifer. Overall, this is definately a great buy, its not too expensive and its a great addition to your makeup collection.
