attractive brush that is well cut and versatile You know - sometimes I get caught up in the hype and feel like I just need to have the same makeup brushes as someone else. I get MAC envy or MUFE envy or Smashbox envy or Louise Young envy. And then I remember that there is this old fashioned trick called "shopping around" that is the great equalizer. Just about anyone who has high expectations from a makeup brush will be happily satisfied with this one. Coming in at less than half the price of the enviable big brand names, this brush has a nice handle, a solid ferrule, soft natural hair bristles that are dense enough to grab a decent amount of product. The brush is well shaped and trimmed evenly - there are no flat spots or pointy edges where there should not be. When I wash it I do not see significant shedding. These are all the things you look for in a brush. This brush has a dome shape and is large enough for face powder and bronzer but is also small enough to use for blush. Contouring and highlighting might be a stretch so this probably can't be your only facial brush. There is a nice contouring brush in the same line - it has an angled shape and shorter bristles. I also really like the dome shaped crease brush. I know this line might seem a bit expensive if you are used to drug store brands, but you will have these brushes for years. I promise. As long as you buy a quality brush and you care for it, it will last a long time. So how do you care for it? Daily you can gently sweep the brush against a paper towel or a tissue to remove powder residue. Weekly you can wash it. You don't need special brush cleaner. You can use baby shampoo and warm water. Don't get water past where the ferrule (metal part) is attached to the handle. Lay the brush on its side on a towel or over the edge of the sink to dry. Soft bristles, great brush. Really just a fantastic powder brush. I've spent much more money on brushes and I keep returning to these little Kashuk brushes...I love them.
